Hey everyone!! Just wanted to update you on how I did on my first 40 mile bike ride with my Mom. I not only finished the 40 mile ride, I SMOKED MY MOM!! She finally caught up to me 8 miles before the finish and only because I waited for her. We left the last rest stop together and not 100 yards from leaving, my chain broke. Mom gave me her good road bike and told me that because I had asked you all to sponsor me, I needed to finish. Mom took my bike back to the rest stop to try and find someone to help her with the chain or give her a ride in. Some nice guy fixed the chain for her but she didn't have any other tools (because I took her Camelbak/tool bag with me) so she had to ride my bike the last 8 miles with the seat waaaayyyyy down where I ride it. She looked like a toad on a roller skate pedaling like crazy when she rode into Sutter. When she saw me, her eyes got REALLY big cause I was sitting on a brand new mountain bike. That's right!!! Thanks to you and your support, I was the highest fund raiser with $620 and I won a brand new bike!!! Thank you all sooooo much for your support. I learned a lot by doing this ride. I learned a ton about diabetes (the ride's proceeds went to the Diabetes Society of Yuba Sutter). It's a horrible disease and I hope I did a little bit to help. I also learned that it's not so easy to get people to part with their hard earned money. Thank you for giving me some of yours!!

Thank you for stopping by! My name is Tyler. I just turned 16 on April 10th. I hope that you are dropping by my web page to see how you might help out in my fundraising efforts. I'm raising money for the Diabetes Association of Yuba Sutter which is an organization that offers over 20 different programs in my area for people with diabetes at virtually no cost.
I have ridden the Bike Around The Buttes with my Mom and sister every year for several years now. This is the first time that I'm attempting to fund raise for the event. It's also the first year that I'm going to attempt the 40 mile ride option rather than the 17 mile one that my Mom, sister and I have always done. I realize that it's going to be a long way and take me quite a while to finish but it will probably be a lot easier than it is for someone who has to live with diabetes.
If you would like to help out by donating, you can either send me a check (made to "The Diabetes Society of Yuba Sutter") or have me come pick up cash if you prefer. Of course, I'll have to coordinate the picking up part with my Mom since she's still doing the driving. You can contact me at my Mom's email address at firstname.lastname@example.org.
